Music Ministry

Education
The “hub” of our Music Ministry is the Sanctuary Choir.  The choir is open to all adults, ages 18 and up.  No audition is required, but experience singing in a choir can be helpful.  Prospective choir members do not have to read music, but an ability to match pitch and blend with other singers is required.  Each Sunday morning, the choir meets at 10:30 am for warm-up and to don beautiful vintage choir robes for worship.  The Sanctuary choir serves the congregation by leading in music and prompting the people to sing!

Children and youth also have a place in music education at Baptist Temple Church.  Seasonal programs provide opportunities for all children/youth ages 3 through 17 to learn songs, scriptures, and principles from God’s Word.  Christmas is a great time for music and this year, all children and youth will participate in an advent celebration through music.


Worship
Our primary time for corporate worship is Sunday morning at 11:00 am.  This classic traditional Baptist service includes familiar and new hymns, choral music, occasional solos, instrumental music, and is all supported by our wonderful accompanists on grand piano and pipe organ.  We sing from the Celebration Hymnal, Word pub. 1997, and we use a printed order of worship to guide us through songs, prayers, and scriptures.  Childcare is available for children through age 3 and is complimentary.  Children ages 4 and 5 are welcome in our worship service that includes a special message just for them. 


Service
We are all called to serve.  Some are gifted to teach, while others are gifted to preach; still others to sing, and some to prophesy.  Those whom God has called to serve in the Music Ministry do so with a cheerful spirit and a song in their heart!

Fellowship
No fellowship is sweeter than the fellowship we have in Christ Jesus!  As we meet for rehearsal, for worship, and to learn and serve, we do so joyfully with each brother and sister in our Music Ministry.  The Sanctuary Choir is a group of people that have NO problem spending plenty of time together – laughing, talking, singing, sharing!  Social events throughout the year provide opportunities to get to know your fellow-choir member and his/her family.  Many church-wide fellowship events will encourage you to meet people in our family of faith that will encourage you and edify you through Christ’s love.
