Information
Baptist Temple Church was founded in 1908 in the upper room of Simon
Lewis’ Grocery in the Heights. Since that time, this wonderful church
has maintained its tradition and heritage, while continually reinventing
tradition. We worship with prayers and hymns, and we offer a full range
of programs for all ages in Bible study, spiritual formation, music education,
missions activities, fellowship, and worship. We are a church of many
ages and ethnicities, representing God’s Kingdom in the world. We
want to share with you in the life and ministry of Baptist Temple Church
in the historic Houston Heights.

Childcare
Childcare is provided for ages birth through 3 years is complimentary and is available without
reservation every Wednesday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., and every Sunday from
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Baptist Temple Church is located in the heart of Houston’s Historic
Heights at the corner of West 20th Street and Rutland Street.

Directions:
From Interstate 10, exit Shepherd Drive and follow Shepherd Drive north
to West 20th Street. Follow West 20th Street east (right) until you reach
our campus, located between Rutland and Yale Streets.
From North Loop 610, exit Yale Street and follow Yale Street south until
you reach our campus, located on West 20th Street, between Yale (east)
and Rutland (west) Streets.
